Dead in L.A. features book one and two of the L.A. Paranormal series and was my first novel by Lou Harper. I went into this series knowing it being primarily a mystery, thereby not expecting too much romance between the two heroes. My problem with the stories was that with no main focus on the romance I expected a well-rounded mystery to keep my attention. Unfortunately, the mysteries in both stories are rather short, easily solved without a lot of suspense, angsty or dangerous scenes thrown in. So neither my romantic, nor my adventurous side got satisfied, although the set up and the characters per se seemed quite promising. I go with a C grade in this case but won't continue reading it.
